Introduction to the Brain: Physiology and Pharmacology
Date: Wednesday, April 19, 2017 Time: 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM PST
Speaker : Andrew B. Thompson, Ph.D.
The scientific study of the brain is relatively new, compared to other biological systems. As such, many psychological professionals are unfamiliar with certain fundamental principles of neuroscience. A thorough understanding of the brain requires foundational knowledge of the brain’s anatomy, physiology and pharmacology. This seminar presents a broad introduction of basic concepts such as gross neuroanatomy, neural communication, and the pharmacology of common drugs.
